Description
Passion flowers can be on vines or trees and have different shapes from a shallow saucer shape to a long cylindrical or trumpet-shaped. They can also be in different colors from pink, purple or blue. The flower in the photo is on a vine, with a beautiful bluish-purple color and a saucer shape, like a multi-tied tray. Here are the parts from the bottom to the top: 1. the sepals (five) and petals (five), 2. the corona, the membranous outgrowths from the tube and the most beautiful part of the flower, curled elegantly at the end, 3. the stamen (five), 4. the ovary and its spreading styles. The end, or the stigma, of each style looks like a large head of a nail.
