Black belly plover’s face and belly are black. According to Google information, the black color on face and belly only appears in breeding season in May and June. In non-breeding season, the bird is of dull gray with whitish belly as is the bird in this photo. A molting adult is in the process of replacing worn out feathers by new ones. We can still see darker shade around the face and the belly.
