Reddish egret is a medium-sized heron that is nearly threatened. The birds prefer warm weather and reside mostly in Central America and the Gulf Coast of US and Mexico. This reddish egret was caught in its action at Bunche Beach, Fort Myers, FL: it just emerged from the water with its catch still at the tip of its bill. Its face and eyes are still covered with water and its wings are widespread and up in the air.
